The Vaccine Development Center of San Antonio

Opportunities for Large Collaborative Projects

The Vaccine Development Center of San Antonio (VDCoSA) has a strong track record through previous and current partnerships of scientists at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), Texas Biomedical Research Institute (Texas Biomed), The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health SA). Between 2012 – 2015, 9 projects were funded and provided a return on investment of 8159%!

As VDCoSA moves forward, SAMs and LAMs will work together to identify funding streams for large programs that stimulate collaborative initiatives (U01, P01, U19, OTA, IDIQ) with funding agencies such as NIH, DOD, and BARDA. Importantly, they will identify teams and mechanisms for large collaborative grant submissions.
